Day 9
Today we had a very successful day looking for animals in the Safari. We saw cheetahs, giraffes, a lion pair, and elephants!
We were also able to watch a wave of wildebeests migrate northward from Tanzania into Kenya across the Mara river. It is a very dangerous passage at this point. The river is deep and crocodile lined. The wildebeests need to swim across and jump up from deep water onto a sloped mud ramp them walk on to land. We watched some not make it, some get chased by hippos, and some helped by the rangers. We cheered for each wildebeest as it walked up on dry land.
