1st Grade: YMCA Swimming Lessons | Project SAFEField Trips - Austin Scottish Rite Theater, The Long Center, Bartholomew Park The Greater Austin YMCA – in collaboration with Colin’s Hope – is working toward the goal of providing area pre-k, kinder, and first graders with critical safety, aquatics, and fitness education. The program is Project SAFE: Safety, Aquatics and Fitness Education.

3rd Grade: Story WranglersStory Wranglers is a seven-week in-school residency in which third graders learn the foundations of creative writing through arts-integrated lessons designed to motivate students and improve their writing skills, confidence, creativity, and storytelling. During the residency, each classroom writes hundreds of stories as a class, in small groups, and in individual journals. At the end of the seven weeks, professional actors — known as the Paramount Story Wranglers — transform students’ original stories from page to stage in a live performance for the entire campus!

5th Grade: Overnight Trip to Twin Lakes Camp & Earth CampCamp at YMCA Camp Twin Lakes is so much more than your typical, ordinary Day Camp. Our Day Campers spend their week outdoors participating in a wide range of exciting camp activities that are focused on helping them develop confidence, improve their social skills, while learning new skills. Parents can trust that our Day Camp Staff have a “camper first” mindset and are dedicated to providing the best Day Camp experience possible. Earth Camp is an award-winning water quality field science program for fifth-grade students attending Title I schools in the Austin Independent School District. Students spend four school days at outdoor sites participating in hands-on science with City educators. Students are encouraged to make informed decisions and take actions which promote stewardship of Austin’s beautiful water resources.

Bobcat Barn The Bobcat Barn program is a unique and innovative approach to promoting emotional growth, wellness, and self-awareness in students. By combining hands-on activities in animal care and gardening with a focus on emotional intelligence, we hope to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their emotions, develop empathy, and build confidence. Our program is designed to be accessible to all students, regardless of experience or background, and offers a holistic approach to personal growth and development. |

Guitar Club (Grades 2-5) Guitar Club is an optional enrichment club for students in 2-5 grade. The club meets on a weekly basis afterschool. Students must complete a commitment form and space may be limited.

Bobcat Choir (Grades 4-5) Bobcat Choir is open to students in 4th and 5th grade. Choir meets afterschool and performs at many events during the school year. |
